Crowthorne Bus

We need a bus for when we can't or choose not to drive. This is the forgotten end of Crowthorne.

Ian Spurrier (Crowthorne, 2023-07-05)

#5

I don't drive and although (currently) I'm able to walk the mile or so to the station, there are a vast number of people who can't for whatever reason. It seems ridiculous that the 125 /125a or can't have a stop added to its route to take in the station (it has done in the past due to roadworks 🤷‍♀️)

Jo Brady (Crowthorne , 2023-07-05)

#6

I agree with what the author has written. I have thought for a long time that the two halves of Crowthorne need to be more connected by public transport.

Elaine Hood (Sandhurst , 2023-07-05)

#7

It’s over 30 mins to my nearest bus stop and there are no pavements along part of that route. It is the council’s responsibility to make sure we have safe alternatives to driving, and at present there are very few options.

Karen Griffiths (Sandhurst, 2023-07-05)

#9

I'm signing in because I am unable to drive anymore and I need to be able to get a bus to enable me to get around easily and the walk to the nearest bus stop is too far away especially if you have shopping. Our end of Dukes Ride has been forgotten about. Very unfair.

Sherrie Spurrier (Crowthorne, 2023-07-05)

#10

We need better public transport routes to reduce use of private cars.

Mike Levey (Crowthorne, 2023-07-05)

#12

There is no transport from where I live into Wokingham or the station. We have to rely on very expensive taxis a lot of the time. It ia much needed

Dawn Rudman (Crowthorne, 2023-07-05)

#13

I live in Crowthorne close to the station and can’t believe there is no provision of a bus service. Everyone is trying to cut emissions but a car is essential when living in an area with no bus service, it makes no sense whatsoever that the present service in Crowthorne cannot be extended to cover this area

Gail Harvey (Crowthorne , 2023-07-05)

#14

I want and would use a bus service from and to Crowthorne station on a regular basis.

john faherty (Crowthorne, 2023-07-05)

#15

I would use the bus to Crowthorne Station.

Jasmin Bushnell (Crowthorne , 2023-07-05)

#16

Makes complete sense to connect the train station to the High Street, especially.

Sarah Brooks (Crowthorne , 2023-07-05)

#17

I think it is disgraceful to have dropped the service in the first place, about time it was reintroduced especially the elderly residents.

patricia gash (CROWTHORNE, 2023-07-05)

#18

As a Crowthorne householder with lifelong connections to the village I am committed to its flourishing. It's a l-o-o-ong walk from the station to the residential areas beyond the High St/Pinewood Avenue axis, including the extensive new Butler's development. I'm astonished to read that only one passenger pw used the former service. The seven years I travelled the no. 3 bus from the station to the village (2 buses per hour) the buses (double deckers) were always full during the rush hours and often over capacity

Susan Allen (Crowthorne, 2023-07-05)

#19

It’s ridiculous that one cannot get to the village shops from here. I am 80 and have to take the car. I wonder what will happen if/when I can no longer drive.

Gina Pellegrini (Crowthorne, 2023-07-05)

#20

I would like to have a bus service connecting Crowthorne Station to the village

Carino Costantini (Crowthorne, 2023-07-05)

#21

I live in Crowthorne and would really appreciate a bus to the station. It makes sense to reduce car trips and carbon.

Lynn Morsy (Crowthorne , 2023-07-05)

#22

It is a necessity to have a bus connecting Crowthorne Station with Crowthorne Village, Meadows (Tesco and M&S), Wokingham, Finchampstead...

ZORAN Sekulic (Crowthorne, 2023-07-05)

#23

It’s crazy to have a bus going down New Wokingham Road and completely missing out on the station. The original route worked well so why change it. Totally ridiculous.

Sally Abbott (Crowthorne, 2023-07-05)

#25

This is a vital resource and much needed to keep the community mobile and connected

Sylvia Pedersen (Crowthorne , 2023-07-05)

#32

I live off Old Wokingham Road and it is a long way to walk to the railway station, especially if I had luggage. I was amazed to move here and find that there was no public transport at all to Crowthorne station.

Jennifer Macey (Crowthorne , 2023-07-06)

#33

I would benefit from a bus and wouldn’t have to drive my car to the station

Amanda Decossio (Crowthorne, 2023-07-06)

#34

We desperately need the bus service

Stephen Revell (Crowthorne, 2023-07-06)

#35

I feel there is a real need for a bus that takes commuters who live in the village to the station, and people that live at the station end to the village. There is little parking at the station as well so this would help. My mother who has lived at the station end for 55 years would benefit from this service.

Caroline Mather (Crowthorne, 2023-07-06)

#36

I feel strongly that we should have a bus link

Anne Gardiner (Crowthorne, 2023-07-06)

#41

it is ridiculous no buses nr station

Mrs donna penfold (Crowthorne, 2023-07-06)

#43

We need a bus

Denise Turner (Crowthorne, 2023-07-06)

#44

A bus service from the station would benefit a lot of people who live in that area of crowthorne. It is currently a 20+ minute walk to the other side of the village to catch a bus.

Susan Haselwood (Crowthorne, 2023-07-06)

#45

I would like to be able to bus from Lower Wokingham Road to Crowthorne Station ,and the village too .

Colin E Hodgson (Wokingham, 2023-07-06)

#55

This will provide a valuable service for local residents.

Brian Tea (Sandhurst, 2023-07-07)

#57

It would be such an asset for the village

Sally Goodman (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#60

We need to connect Crowthorne station to the main high street by bus

Kerrie Jones (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#61

I live on Bucklers Park, I don't drive. It would be good to have a bus to get to the station .

Tina Buck (Crowthorne , 2023-07-07)

#63

I want a bus from Crowthorne Station to Crowthorne and to Camberley Meadows.

Penny Tomlin (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#64

We need to link vital infrastructures to support more sustainable travel

Julia Birkett (Reading, 2023-07-07)

#65

It’s ridiculous that there is no bus from the town centre to the train station.

Tanya Barrow (Fleet, 2023-07-07)

#67

When we need to take train to other town, it is difficult for us to reach the station except driven by car. If we drive the car, we need to pay extra for parking for whole day. It is very inconvenient!

Yin Li Tang (Crowthorne , 2023-07-07)

#69

I live in crowthorne and this would be very useful

Gemma Eaton (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#70

A service is needed

David Thomas (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#72

It would be great to have a bus connection the train station with the high street

Charlotte Randell (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#73

I believe there is a genuine need for this service in my area and re-introducing it would also reduce our environmental impact.

Linda Gibson (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#74

I live at the station end of Crowthorne and its a long walk to the shops, we need transport provided.

Nicola Mountford (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#75

I can no longer drive and this would be a lifeline to help me reach friends and essential services.

Sheila Stilwell (Crowthorne , 2023-07-07)

#77

I have been asking for this service for many years. I live in Wokingham Without Ward and within the Parish of Finchampstead. I am only 10 minutes walk from Crowthorne Station and being registered blind I can not walk to the nearest bus stop located in Nine Mile ride (at least 40 minutes walk ) being 85 years old. Currently my wife and I have to take the car to Crowthorne village and to Wokingham or Camberley because there is no accessible public transport available to us. We would use a regular service if it was provided. The provision of a bus service would increase my independence and allow me to travel on my own to Crowthorne Village and Wokingham, Bracknell and the surrounding area..

Eric Davies (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#79

That’s needed

Ana Paula Silva (Wokingham, 2023-07-07)

#82

I live near Crowthorne Station and a bus to the High Street and beyond Crowthorne is an excellent idea.

Estelle Howick (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#87

It seems quite bizarre that a train station has no bus service linking it to the village that it gets its name from.

Elderly, disabled, young families etc travelling to Crowthorne by train are left stranded, or will have to pay for a private taxi to get into the village.

This seems like a major oversight.

Mark Kitching (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#88

This would be a great service for many

Pauline Millett (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#91

A bus to Crowthorne station would be so useful and used by commuters (students and workers). Also people travelling to Gatwick for flights. Shoppers to Reading or Guildford. The service is long overdue

Sue Robinson (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#92

We need to make both ends of Crowthorne accessible to everyone!

Joanne Jones (Crowthorne , 2023-07-07)

#98

We need better transportation from the Station side of the village.

Geoff Slaughter (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#99

I have. Children who cannot reliably travel independently and feel that there is a real need to alleviate traffic which is extremely heavy in Crowthorne

Lorraine Irwin (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#100

I would love to use a bus rather than my car - why can’t the bus that goes down Wokingham road at traffic lights one to station turn at roundabout and continue normal route?

Christine Boudier (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#102

I’m signing because I believe there is a need for transportation between the station and the high street

Carol Martin (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#103

I'm signing because I support the need for more bus routes to get around Crowthorne and the local areas, station, meadows and Wokingham frequently.

Lydia Tye (Crowthorne , 2023-07-07)

#104

I'm signing as I've long thought we should have a bus service at this end if the village. I live in the Brambles and it takes 45 minutes to walk to the high street to pick up a bus for Bracknell, Camberley or indeed shop in the high street.

Edward Berridge (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#105

I have found myself in situations where I need to get public transport to and from the station, but there are no options available that go to/ from old Wokingham road which leaves my only option to drive or get an expensive taxi.

Georgina Roberts (Crowthorne , 2023-07-07)

#106

I believe a good bus service throughout the village to local areas is the way forward , with all the new houses in Oakham and Bucklers Park the roads can’t cope with the amount of traffic

Karon Purvey (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#107

Be very helpful route

John Cattermole (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#111

I believe everyone should have fair and equal access to public transport and their local amenities

Vikki Roberts-Caiger (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#115

I want to be able to get to and from the train station faster. We have a train station and no link to the other part of Crowthorne

Elliott Thomas (Crowthorne , 2023-07-07)

#117

1. I'm retired
2.constant stream of people getting off a station and asking where the bus stop is
3. it's a railway station (1m from town) there is always a bus stop at a rail station ... if it warrants a rail stop, it clearly meets the requirements of a bus stop

graeme vetterlein (crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#118

This is an important issue that could really affect lots of people

Gemma Cockram (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#120

I would use this definitely

Lisa Smith (Sandhurst, 2023-07-07)

#126

There is no bus dervice around the area of crowthorne station and surrounding and its a very long walk to get the bus. Not fair on people and then the disabled and young children to walk that far to catch a bus.

Kathrine Sayer (Berkshire , 2023-07-07)

#128

Definitely needed!

Kerry Gryce (Crowthorne , 2023-07-07)

#131

as a resident of Crowthorne, I need to get to the station frequently & have to arrange a lift or taxi as I have a disability and cannot walk the mile distance from my home

Sharon Middleweek (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#133

Seems silly there isn’t one!!

Carinthia Coffey (Berkshire , 2023-07-07)

#134

I could use this service to connect to my daughters home

Mike Carter (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#135

This would be a very useful transport option for our village. The distance between the station and the village is a bit far to walk for the elderly and young children.

Charlotte Stacey ✯ (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#137

All the reasons stated in the petition.

BP Littleproud (Crowthorne , 2023-07-07)

#142

A route connecting the station to the high street would help lots of people. I have noticed that when using the train it is usually younger t fit people that are on it, I had given much thought to not having a bus route connecting to the village.
This would also help people who need to use a post office as there is now only the one up by the station

Karen Flynn (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#145

I’m signing because I have lived in Crowthorne since I was 6 years old (32 years now) and my parents live in crowthorne and bus services are vital for people who don’t drive to commute
Please consider this small request for the residents of a lovely village

Lauren Brown (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#146

There is a need for this service. Would greatly help the community

Elaine Kimber (Sandhurst , 2023-07-07)

#147

Its ridiculous that a developed village of this size doesn’t have better transport. Aside from anything else it’s an environmental issue that needs to be addressed.

Amelia Slaughter (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#148

I care about the residents in Crowthorne who can't drive or move around easily and also an electric bus is better for the environment.

Cheryl Gibbs (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#149

I do find it strange that Crowthorne do have a bus service but nowhere near the station

Flemming Westphalen (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#150

More public transport between the station and High Street and station and Wokingham is definitely needed, so more people have options besides driving and also to mitigate declining rail service.

Hannah Budnitz (Crowthorne , 2023-07-07)

#154

Because there should be a bus from the high street to the station.

Caroline Silvester (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#155

I find it difficult to walk as far as the station, impossible with luggage!

Lynn Frost (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#158

WE NEED A BUS

moss quelch (crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#163

A bus service would help my family travel to friends elsewhere in surrounding areas and lower the amount of time we use the car

Dean U’Dell (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#164

I need to be able to get to crowthorne Station from the high Street.

Lisa Roberts (Crowthorne , 2023-07-07)

#165

It makes no sense that people who arrive at a village train station have no way of accessing the village without walking, when it is nearly a mile away.

Victoria Evans (Crowthorne , 2023-07-07)

#167

It's important to provide better public transport links between Crowthorne station and the main centre of the village.

Louise Westphalen (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#168

Having lived on Ardwell Close I would have benefitted from being on a bus route to town.

Dawn Adams (Fleet, 2023-07-07)

#173

We need a bus service thar connects the station with our high street.

David Curtin (Crowthorne , 2023-07-07)

#176

Part of the village is cut off from the main shopping/amenity area. Also it’s a half an hour walk for us to get to the train station. Would be good to be able to access more local towns.

Diana Kilmartin (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#179

I live in Crowthorne and having no public transport running to the station is ridiculous, I was working in reading and had to drive to the station As walking would have taken over 45 mins 1.9 miles walking distance

Donna Docherty (Crowthorne, 2023-07-07)

#182

Public transport between the high street and train station would be a huge asset to the village.

With such limited parking available at the station a bus route would encourage many more passengers to make use of the station. Additionally, it would provide a public transport connection between the two parts of the village.

Janna Hagen (Crowthorne, 2023-07-08)

#183

I’m signing because we, in Crowthorne, need a bus service from high street to and from the station. It’s over one mile to walk either way and is difficult for many people to walk it. We have school children that need to use it and there are a lot of elderly people like myself, who don’t have the use of a car.

Marion Perrin (Crowthorne, 2023-07-08)

#186

Public transport is important. Lack on interconnectivity is what makes people jump in their car.

Carolyn Dark (Crowthorne, 2023-07-08)

#188

I am 70+ and cannot walk to Wokingham!
The station in Wokingham is too far from the shops to walk as well.
I cannot get to Bracknell town centre directly by public transport.
We need a reliable regular bus service.

Marina Ruette (Crowthorne, 2023-07-08)

#192

My mum is 89, she lives opposite the station and can only go out if someone drives her.

liz Grierson (Crowthorne , 2023-07-08)

#194

I live in the area and would use a bus service from Crowthorne Station to Wokingham at least twice a week.

KEVIN GRIERSON (Wokingham, 2023-07-08)

#197

Public transport is key to a growing greener economy and society

RICHARD BROOKS (Wokingham, 2023-07-08)

#199

We need a reliable bus service for Crowthorne.

Lin Meade (Crowthorne , 2023-07-08)
