I’m signing because as a faculty member and alumni, I cannot stand idly by and watch a member of my higher Ed inatitition be silenced, suspended and prevented from supporting and teaching students because of his affiliation with PSC. I'm Jewish, and I was involved with Hillel at IU as a service leader, shofar blower during High Holidays, and took Hillel's Jewish Cooking class. I wrote my undergrad honors thesis in sociology about perceptions of antisemitism at IU. I'm dismayed that Professor Sinno is apparently being punished after PSC invited Jewish Israeli-American dual citizen Miko Peled to speak. The chilling effect this may have on speech, activism, and academic freedom deeply upsets my values as a Jew, as an American, and as part of the IU Alumni community.
