Hi everybody,

This is the email from Mette Kirk that we received today, I am forwarding it to all of you too so that you can be informed.

"Thank you for your interest and input into the draft Plan of Management and proposed redevelopment of 36 – 48 Kingsway, Dee Why for a Multipurpose Community Facility and Carpark.

I am writing to provide you with a brief update on where the project is up to and to remind you that you are welcome to contact me if you have any questions.

A report regarding the draft Plan of Management will be presented to Council at their next meeting 25 June 2013, 6pm to 8pm at Council Chambers, Dee Why. Council will make a decision at this meeting on whether or not to adopt the draft Plan of Management for the site.

Documents accompanying the Council report include the draft Plan of Management, a summary of submissions and a report from the Independent Chair of the Public Hearing (1 May 2013). These will be available from the “Council meetings” section of our website by the end of this week. Hardcopies can be made available by contacting me directly.

If Council decides to adopt the draft Plan of Management, the project will then proceed to design stage and architects will be engaged. Council remains committed to actively work with residents and other community members to make sure that the design is appropriate and responsive to community needs.

You are welcome to attend the Council meeting. No bookings are required. If you wish to address the Public Forum, please phone 9942 2737 or emailcouncilmeetings@warringah.nsw.gov.au.  Click here for guidelines on how to address the Public Forum.

STOP Multipurpose Community Facility - TREES REMOVAL

Dear Neighbors,

Once again thank you in advance for taking the time to read this email.

I would like to inform you that, as announced, Saturday 18 May the Councill will begin to cut the trees in the car park.

Due to the lack of information regarding this task, there are some reasonable doubts that (instead of being just a routine job) this is going to be the first step towards the complete removal of the trees in order to achieve their project.

I would like to invite you to a meeting that will take place:.

Saturday 18 May at 7.00 am at the entrance of the car park.

This meeting is intended to show to the Councill how many people

◦are concerned and against this development;

◦are against the undiscriminating removal of the trees;

◦care about the area they live in;

I really hope to see many of you on Saturday.

Please spread this invitation around as the more we will be the greater are the chances to be heard by news papers too.

Thank you.

STOP Multipurpose Community Facility in Kingsway, Dee Why - TREES REMOVAL

Dear neighbours,

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this email.

A few days ago a letter was dropped in our mailbox's notifying us of the following Council's actions:

"In the interest of public safety, Councill will be removing dead and hazardous trees from the car park - Saturday 18 May and Saturday 25 May".

Even though it is true that there are some dangerous trees in the car park, does the number of these trees justify two days of work?? Are they going to remove only these hazardous trees or is this the first step towards the total removal of the trees?

It is time to raise our voices and to make sure that only the dangerous and dead trees are going to be removed. We need to show that we care about safety of course but that we are vigilant on their actions too.

Another email will be sent to you later this week to communicate further actions planned.

Thank you.
