It is the people that is messing around with the animals that just sell them for the love of money... we as Tarantulla keepers and I that keep snakes and bearded dragons and Iguans... this is my hobby and I love taking care of all my animals... and so does the rest of us... we need to get the people responsible for this actions that took place... don't let us suffer there consequences.

This wil create underground trade which will be worst place for these animals. This idea is totaly in the gevernments favour. They get money by selling licenses and they fuel corruption. Country is screwed enough as it is, leave the animals alone.

The proposed regulations will effect many livelihoods. What happens to the people that work with Exotic Animals for a living?

Why dont you regulate the industry with permits?

Om n permit te moet he vir n dier soos n hamster, maak net nie sin nie.

It is stupid because there is so many different species of mammals, lizards, spiders and snakes in South-Africa.People who want to try to stop us to continuing with our hobby's,doesn't deserve a spot in our reptile community. And they should not ever come close to a Animal.

Instead of the government trying to destroy our hobbies that most of us are passionate and live for why don't they focus on the bigger problems at hand like poverty , crime and the corruption,

It is most distressing to find that governments don't understand how much care goes into the keeping of these animals.

Many of my friends keep exotics.
Including fish as well as reptiles, even small mammals.

I believe this law to be unjust and not thought out in the least.

Should Zoo's destroy surplus invertebrates kill giraffes next thing we know about because they not required and no home looked for.

The people that keep these animals are keeping a gene pool alive.
They must be allowed to continue.

I think that it is wrong to have wild animals as pets but I do think we should have the right to have house pets such as cats and dogs and birds ext , but only if the owner takes good care of them and don't abuse them.I love my pets verry much and no one should have the right to take them away from their home where they are fed and taken good care of !

Very sad. There is no scientific proof that these animals provide a threat. Although I know you guys are trying to do good. Listen to the people, the people that love these animals, this will be a very sad day. So unnessary.

Don't these people have better things to keep themselves busy with, this would destroy an industry that creates income for many people, o yes. Sorry I forgot, government is all about destroying true independance and true economic freedom and prosperity, they cause the problems to which they come a riding in the wind as the saviours of the people, all for a small price of enslavement.

Smaller government is better government, we the people of this republic do not need them, they should go away!!!

Whoever made the ruling regarding the breeding of mealworms and cricketa for feeding purposes an offence is obviously a nut case. I doubt that these insects along with cockroaches will ever be put on the endangered list. These nut jobs need to outlaw the export and sales of rhino products and do something productive and valuable to the environment and stop embarrassing themselves.

We have a constitution containing the Bill of Rights in section 9. There is something called freedom of speech. SA has suposedly changed and we are democratic... Our voices are the turning factor and this Bill and everything contained in it is a Disgrace. It is poorly written and lacks details. It, like many others should be smashed. All it will create if it is passes is billions of feeders not from pir country, released into an already fragile eco system. Set limitations instead of banning everything all together
