As a new resident to the area I have had more days without power than days with electricity (excluding the normal loadshedding hours). As of 07/03/2024 my hone and few others in the area have been for 6 days!

This puts us at a huge security risk as well and food & groceries lost for the month! This we can't get back from city power or no-one else for that matter. Owners pay rates and taxes for what!

This has caused such an inconvenience in many people's lives and have incurred unnecessary costs on us whereby we have to seek help of others to bath and cook for ourselves and our families.

I stand by Hamberg being exempted from all power outages as we go on long periods of days without being restored or getting any help from anyone.

Our area Hamberg has been badly affected by loadshedding, theft and vandalism resulting in days without power. We need to be exempt from loadshedding. Also City Power service is terrible.

We have had a power outage every week for a very long time, almost every street in Hamberg has taken ownership and guardianship over either the local street box or the mss by securing them for a while now. Why does City Power and coj still fail to give us the service we pay for. City Parks also has to accept blame for their part in the problem. Overgrown trees and overgrown grass areas provide hiding place for criminals City parks does nothing to maintain our communities. Every action they take is reactive and this is unacceptable. Why must tree pruning be requested or reported, is that not a given??

Poor service delivery in the Hamberg and surrounding areas. Ongoing electricity issues. We are always having issues with cable theft, burnt cables, MSS's being vandalized,especially during loadshedding. As a law abiding citizen who pays her taxes on time, pays for all municipal costs, the neglect and poor service delivery has to be seriously addressed and resolved.

There are too many instances where our Power is off over and above loadshedding which in itself is absolutely ridiculous. The pole outside my home has no cover over the switch outside and when it rains heavily this causes the electricity to trip. It takes 4 days or more by the residents in Hamberg just to get a technician out just to flip the switch. Thus delay results in losses and extra expenses eg: food goesoff in refrigerator, we have to buy fuel for generators if we have, we have to buy gas to cook daily meals or we are having to buy meals for our families because we couldn't cook. All of these are unnecessary expenses which could have been avoided if City Power were efficient in their service delivery to us as valued customers. We report faults and those cases are closed within 24hours with no service at all. Recognise that when our electricity is off so is our internet access. This causes more expense on our part having to buy more data to check and re-load faults, get new case numbers daily and follow up on the status of reported cases which City Power closes without rendering the service. This is a dishonest practice as you appear to be performing on your service delivery mandate but in reality your stats are pathetic. You have no respect for the people who pay your salaries. Your call centre is not working efficiently either. We are pre-paid (Paying) customers. You are not doing us a favour, it is your job to service the community of Hamberg. We should not have to beg and plead for services that we are paying for. City Power, we are playing our part, please play yours.

We are constantly faced with power outages week after week for long periods at a time,
The disruptions is an inconvenience and also a risk to our safety, security, disrupting access to essential services such as clean water, refrigeration, heating/cooling systems,
over and above load shedding,vandalism,theft we now having to deal with incompetent, inexperienced subcontractors Are they held liable for damages are they suspended and barred from making use of any state tenders to maintain any infrastructures We had enough I say no to poor service delivery inexperienced subcontractors, poor maintenance, lack of resources and technical faults urgent attention required

We as senior citizens and do need electricity for daily use and cannot do without. Furthermore the contents of our perishables are now becoming at a critical stage where most probably will have to be disposed of.To claim from Council will be an impossible task and to claim from own insurers will be a loss in bonuses or increased premiums.
