we can't allow law-abiding citizens to have their rights trampled and having paid for their education they need to be allowed to safely resume their studies

It is unfair that some students' rights are put above others! Let us continue with our studies and not put us at a disadvantage as we are paying for classes that aren't even taking place.

One would expect more intelligence from students - their fight is with the corrupt government. Instead a minority is stealing the education of a majority by intimidation

My child has the write to education. Those who strike does not have the right to withheld this from other students. The NMMU needs to take action on behalf of those who is willing to pay for studies and willing to learn. This is not a free country. Wake up.

My family also cannot afford to pay my fees, so I am studying with a bank loan, because I want to study and make a better life for myself . Tersiary studies are a privilage and this comes at a cost, so these hooligans are depriving me 1. an education and 2. a better life. If I cannot complete my studies this year ,they are costing me another years interest on my loan, if the bank will allow me to postpone repayments by another year and another year of not having a fixed income. I do not want you to toy-toy for me ( as you state you are doing), because I want the best education I can get and if no one wants to pay, the universities will not be able to afford the best lecturers. You are fooling yourself in thinking that government is going to cover the cost of all the thousands of students in this country. I do ackowledge that you have a right to an opinion, but not at my expense - PLEASE. I WANT TO STUDY!!!!!, SO PLEASE RESPECT MY RIGHTS AS WELL

I , as well as my daughter are an alumni from this University and can not believe that the rights of those that want to study are not protected by 'Management'. What is happening to this once laudable institution? Why is this even tolerated??

These tactics will cripple education and our country. Why is the country tolerating these bully tactics preventing others constituetional right to attend their lectures and tests and exams.

Umgaqo-siseko walapha eMzantsi Afrika unikisa ngegunya lokuqhankqalaza xa kungekho ukoneliseka, ngoko ke akukho nto e "unlawful" ngokuqhankqalaza xa singonelisekanga yinkqubo yesebelemfundo ephakamileyo. Nithi bayithathe phi imali yokufunda abafundi abangenamali nazi bursaries? Kaloku nina aniliboni ixabiso loluqhankqalazo kubo abanye benu bazizinana ezinemali eninzi abanye banee bursaries nezi scholarships. Phambili ngomzabalazo! Phambili!

Because it is IMPERATIVE that we stop the bullying and temper tantrums of the few egotistical posturers and engage meaningfully on this issue, but without disrupting and wasting AN ENTIRE YEAR. Im also thinking of all the foreign students who have made considerable sacrifices to be studying.

Why must the few protesters l... who are clearly a minority be allowed to jeopardise the majority of students futures.

Students have the right to education, especially if they have signed a contract with the university and if they have paid their fees. It is unlawful and a violation of their rights if the actions of other ungrateful students and citizens influence whether they can attend their lectures or not. The protests are violating the publics right to a safe environment and something needs to be done about it. NOT to those students who have to sit and watch their class mates break down there university, but to the students who are causing chaos and also the public who are participating in the embarrassing and discrediting protests.

I signed this petition so that the media can take a greater stand against these unlawful actions.
