Pomegranite is a great restaurant with very friendly staff and excellent food. The decor is in no way out of keeping with the decor of other long standing businesses in the area

The restaurant is an asset to the neighbourhood. It is tastefully decorated in sympathy with the building and significantly improving on the previous establishment. Edinburgh council needs to think again.

Please do not allow the attacks on the Pomegranate Restaurant to continue. It is a happy and valued place. Celia

This harassment would seem to be a case of out and out racism - there is no place for this in Scotland, shame on the idiot(s) behind it. I have never been to this restaurant but since hearing of this I will visit now.

Disgraceful behaviour

Sounds racially motivated. The fact that the council are endorsing racist behaviour is disgusting. All involved...council and the offending woman ..should be reported for racially offensive behaviour.

It's ridiculous that there is suddenly a problem with the signage etc now that it is a eastern restaurant. The lighting etc are no different than when it was an Italian restaurant

Compared to any signage and restaurant fronts Pomegranate doesn't stand out in any way or form, there for this is bordering on excluding an individual business.....for what reason?

What is wrong with people, have they nothing better to do with their lives!!! The restaurant front looks lovely and i certainly wouldn't have a problem with it being in my area. I hope the petirion works and i wish the owners the best of luck.

This is just ridiculous, you can count on council scum to go ahead and pull down a culture that has brought us joy for so many years. Quite frankly, I feel the council should execute a public apology, and then leave Pomegranate Restaurant to be.

I have always admired the appearance of this restaurant. I have had friends who have been the victims of harassment by mentally unstable (as opposed mentally ill) neighbours who have forced a series of people who lived next to them to move away. This type of person should not be allowed to have their way.

Pomegranate is directly opposite where I work. It is a great little place with wonderful friendly staff. It is 100% inoffensive and no different to any other of the establishments around it. They should be protected for providiing a bit of diversity, not harassed.

It's outrageous that we should have to do this to save a superb wee restaurant. It horrifies me to think that there are such narrow minded people living on our community. Hope the petition helps

This a fantastic restaurant with great food. I am struggling to understand why artful arabic lettering is seen as offensive?

what motive is behind this complaint. Edinburgh Council should be assisting hard working business owners, not pandering to some one who simply has not got anything else better to do!!!

i have never eaten at pomegranate, however it is absolutely laughable to say thier signage is "offensive." This is either racist, exploitative or deluded. Whichever applies, there is no valid reason to do anything but apologise and drop this.

Pomegranate is a wonderful, welcoming restaurant. This campaign seems quite unreasonable, particularly when one considers the city centre location.

The restaurant front doesn't look the least bit offensive to me. Good luck with the petition.
