There's enough animals out there that don't have a home or are abused why make someone who cares and loves animals be forced to get rid

Signed for you. I truly hope you get to keep your babies. Tell everyone you know, call them repeatedly. More exposure is good.

It would be heartbreaking to part these two older dogs and could cause them so much stress. As for the poor owner if this was one of my dogs i would be devastated. Please let them stay

There is no valid reason to re,home this dog , it was agreed BOTH could live there ! No offence has been committed , the dogs are controlled /trained ... The owner has complied to having both dogs on leads whilst on the property !!!!! Why can OTHER residents have more than one dog ????? These dogs are elderly and should NOT be separated , THEY HAVE DONE NO WRONG !!!!!! Seems like a witch hunt to me !!!!!!! Why did you wait 1 year to decide ONLY one dog ?? When 1 year previous you told the tenant it was fine to have 2 dogs !!!! Like I said. WHITCH HUNT !!!!!!!

If you have your own home you could if you wanted to have 100 dogs and nobody could stop you as long a you treated them well but if you rent from the council they can say no dogs or only one dog if you already have more than one dog it is very unfair to be made to get rid of one or more of them.

I have a sfaffordshire bull terrier and he is the most gentle lad. I have had him since 8 weeks old. They are the most loving dogs. My boy will be 2 in September and NO dog should be penalized because of breed.....

If you were allowed to move in with 2 Dogs then in my opinion you should be allowed to keep the 2 you cant expect people to get rid of Animals that have done nothing wrong not hurt anyone they are family

This is so unfair. She was told she could have her pets there and then suddenly she's not allowed! You can't do that to people! How is she supposed to choose who stays and who goes! It is like choosing between your children which is what their pets are to a lot of people. If other people are allowed two pets then so should she be!!!

she informed the council she had 2 dogs and she would only except the place if her 2 dogs came with her it is not her fault the council changed their mind

It's wrong...you can't change your mind just because. The council knew there were two dogs. There are other tenants with more than one pet...wrong on all levels.

Because something needs to be done about all the dogs needing rehomjng there's enough dogs out there that need to be rehomed why force someone to rehome a dog against there will when it's in a loving home already ! it's disgusting !

I signed petition because I think it is disgusting expecting some-one to rehome one of her beloved dogs. they will be telling people to rehome a child if they have 2 of them. those 2 dogs the lady has are her family. If they are doing this then they should letters to those people who have 2 or more children to rehome them as they are only allowed one. Good luck to the lady and hope she wins her case

Why should it matter how many you have . Bloody idiots dogs are family also are pack animals . Makes me sick how can anyone choose between two dogs and what will happen to the one that has to go? Or the feeling of the one left on its own stupid stupid people

There is a growing trend of discrimination against dog owners, and this bombastic, blinkered outlook typifies it. Dogs are family! Whether you personally agree with it or approve of it is irrelevant. Dogs are family. Fact. Stop discriminating!

I had the same trouble with my council over my dogs. The neighbour who complained decided to poison mine. It's a disgrace that these people can cause all of the problems, the dogs are obviously harmless.

Housing discrimination

Totally wrong when Council/person breaks their word. Permission given for both dogs. Sounds like a jobsworth has a little bit of authority. Wishing all the luck that this lady will be able to keep her dogs and keep the tenency.

Its unfair to victimise the dogs for something they haven't done and at their age. There are enough homeless staffies due to bad owners already, don't make another one homeless when they're in a home where they're loved - that's animal abuse by the council!

I signed because I think Hackney councils treatment of this lady and her pets is insensitive disgusting and as no other tenant has recieved this letter definately should not be happening. She must be absolutely distraught and they were already aware of her 2 dogs being resident in the home and they werent against this then so why now? They should hang their heads in shame.
