#76 Adhaan method

2012-07-22 12:25

"The call to prayer (Athaan) is called out from the Mosque`s five times a day, summoning Muslims for mandatory prayers (Salah)." But of course - no-one would disagree with this requirement for the fulfillment of our Salaah on time.

I do believe the method used is under fire, not the Adhaan, per se.

Blasting the neighbourhood with speaker systems is a lot over the top, irrespective of what comes out of the speakers.

Sadly, Muslims are being stirred into a frenzy by disingenuous public figures (so called leaders) who have not and maybe will not expound on the above quote off the call to sign the petition.

With social media, smart 'phones, watches, etc., the Adhaan from the Minarah has become a necessary formality, with reminders from other sources more important as Salaah markers.

To all engaged in the Ramadaan fasting, have a good one!

The use of Public Address System as a means of announcing the call to prayer (Athaan), is the symbol of a Muslim's prayer and other religions have also other public announcement systems like ringing of bells etc..This can never be justified by simply removing it! All religions must be equally respected!

I have signed this petition & think it's a disgrace that they want to go to such lengths as the athaan has been sounded for centuries...they must remember Allah is watching them...

What is the ANC afraid of? Why ban the Adhaan. The Adhaan is only calling the Muslim to prayer. Surely we in South Africa have the Constitutional right to practice our religion freely. Are there no Muslims in the ANC? I wonder. South Africa is unique because we embrace DIVERSITY!

People of the state should have equal rights

Why do you prevent the Call of God?

What have you done for the loud music every where?

Be fair.
