The total lack of rules and accountability no longer apply in South Africa. 21 years down the line and corruption, nepotism are the norm!

The new market stables offer people a chance to reconnect with the important things in life , it teaches children that there are more important things to do with their time than to sit on their cell phones and computers , not to mention the tranquility it offers people in the middle of a hustling and bustling city , not to mention the fact that if this gets taken away the grooms will lose their homes and jobs and many of the horse will have to be put down just for the sake of a few fat cats needing to line their own pockets

Newmarket Stables has been apart of DURBAN for as long as I can remember and I'm 37 years old! The families, the horses and the good work that have come through and from this organisation have been a blessing & inspiration to many. Let's keep the Good & Best of Durban Alive!

This was the place I leased my first pony. A pony to call my own for a while. This place lead me to my instructor who taught me so much. This place holds so many opportunities and possibilities. Save New Market!

When there are so many football fields readily available - I dont see any reason to take down a histoical site, or put down those beautiful animals for one more.
Please save Newmarket Stables!

We need the facilities the Stables offers the public of Durban. Do NOT NEED another white elephant for the soccer ONLY fraternity that will cost the ratepayer money, one way or another, that is for sure. DOWN WITH SOCCER !!!

Although I now live in the UK, I was born and raised in Durban, and spent nearly every weekend of my childhood at the Pony Club/Newmarket stables. It is a wonderful place, full of happy memories, and a real gem in the middle of the city. I strongly believe this heritage site MUST be preserved for future generations. To demolish the stables to make way for yet another football academy would be nothing short of criminal.

My daughters and I love horses. Every day we drive past and we have to look at the beautiful creatures. These stables bring the country to the city.

Because it is selfish to only care for ourselves and not the creations of Allah ( GOD)

I've been visiting the stables for years, for as long as I can remember and meeting the amazing people who have their stalls there too. It would be heartless to remove them as well as the horses.

my mum is a senior citizen who makes additional income via the stables flea market. it convenient, safe and busy. where does she go now. she cannot carry her stocks + gazebo + table etc to a fleamarket. many people stand to lose. very sad decisions taken with 1mth notice given.

Because it is a tragedy that the last Equestrian Stable that has for so long been part of Durban's heritage is just been "thrown away" because of greed and money!

It is yet another sad reflection on how money talks in this country. We dont need a football academy which would be used much like Moses Mabhida Stadium - very rarely! Such a shame but unfortunately despite our very best efforts nothing will change, we will still lose this landmark in Durban.

Why do the Newmarket Stables need to be used when there are big open, vacant plots across the road from Mabida Stadium, waiting to be developed? I have seen soccer practices going on upon these very plots! So why not use these plots for the Soccer Training fields?

Because everything that is dear to us and we are proud of in Durban must be cared for and treasured Bad enough Clairwood has gone, No this is not right ! Find new ground for a training academy for soccer!

I love The Stables. We do not need another soccer stadium. I believe that a huge injustice will be done if it is closed down.

Even with the ever-expanding populace and geographical boundary of a city, there is a need to accommodate heritage sites and passions as much as for newly developing ones. This site should be regarded as proudly in Durban's history as it should be for its future.
