Financial Support for Temporary Visa Holders in Australia - COVID 19

Due to the covid-19 pandemic a lot of temporary visa holders in Australia (visitor visas, student visas, 482 visa holders, working holiday visas), have been left unemployed and stranded in Australia. So far, The Australian Government has done nothing to support temporary visa holders in Australia. It has not provided a clear indication of what, if any financial support will be provided. Temporary visa holders need help and we request the Australian Government provide a clear answer to them.   We

Put the SWEK District in LOCKDOWN

Please keep the SWEK district free of Corona-19. If it reaches the Kimberley's it will have catastrophic effects with many deaths.  I implore the local government to take decisive action NOW. Moreland Council don't use Covid19 to delay MITS parking restrictions

We petition Moreland Councillors at March 25, 2020 Special Council meeting not to use the Corona Virus crisis to delay indefinitely the rollout of parking restrictions in Moreland activity centres that are part of the Moreland Integrated Transport Strategy (MITS) implementation. The need to apply social distancing due to #COVID19 has anecdotally seen a major cycling increase in Coburg and Brunswick as public transport use has declined. (Note 1)  Parking restrictions are needed to continue to pr

Jack is not a dangerous dog!

Hi My dog Jack is a lovely big boofhead who has stood in front of snakes and barked and chased off foxes to save chickens. He is not a big scarey aggressive dog who attacks people. He loves children. He loves the old neighbours next door. From being a baby I have made him take treats from my mouth so he learned early on to be gentle taking treats, as I didn't want his big mouth snatching treats from little hands. Note if he was a big bitey dog he would try attack/ bite snakes or foxes - but his

SeaLink continued services to Port Fitzroy, Great Barrier Island

The residents of Port Fitzroy and the surrounding areas of north Great Barrier Island have been formally informed by the North Barrier Residents and Ratepayers Association that after Easter 2020 SeaLink will no longer bring freight or passengers to the Port Fitzroy Wharf. Petition to Moreland City Council on Adani and Procurement policy

We, the undersigned, hereby implore and petition the City of Moreland Council to amend Council's Procurement policy in line with strategic decisions to oppose the development of the Adani mine (8 February 2017) and to declare a climate emergency (September 2018). We note that a proposal for this was rejected at the October 2019 Council meeting (CAMoreland 2019) Australia is enduring a bushfire disaster emergency clearly linked to climate change and the rise in temperatures due to global heating
