Appeal for a 50 percent reduction of CO2 emissions from UiO flights

The message from the climate scientists can no longer be ignored. After the Climate Change Conference in Katowice, we know that the global temperature rise must not exceed 1.5°C. In this situation, each and every one must contribute. As an educational institution, the University has a particular responsibility so that the disaster does not become a fact. When the climate scientists are ignored by politicians, and when scientific results are being explained away by representatives for short term

Appeal for a 50 percent reduction of CO₂ emissions from UiB flights

We encourage the Rector and the university management [GK1] at all levels to promote measures that ensure that CO2 emissions from employees' flights are cut by half within a few years, at the latest by 2025. We want a strong action plan that not only helps to reduce our total greenhouse gas emissions, but that also stimulates each of us as academics to act in ways that are compatible with responsible politics of limiting global warming, and which may serve as an example for other institutions an

Let’s be more ambitious in our approach to the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and of global sustainability!

An open letter from professors, researchers, students and staff of Norwegian Universities.     Passioned appeals from scientists to address the risks of climate change, biodiversity loss and the exceedance of planetary boundaries affecting sustainability are not a new phenomenon. Peer reviewed reports (subscribed to by most reputed experts) showing the aggravation of these problems are published time and again in the face of a general inertia and lack of action in response to the challenges.   H

Petition to make Nissan improv NissanConnect (Nissan EV)

To Nissan Your app NissanConnect is substandard. Too often it doesn’t work at all or is slower than a turtle.  You use it in your marketing. This is deeply dishonest. For me it seems quite clear that it malfunction more often at cold weather conditions. When we needed it the most. Fix it or kill it. Stop using it in marketing until it works. If you can’t fix it, give financial compensation to the victims. 2000€ sounds like a reasonable compensation. Not very friendly greetings. Mikael Wester
